"I grew up watching batik come to life. Waxed by hand. Coloured with patience. Made by people who had spent years learning the craft. As a second-generation batik artisan, this was part of my world long before Sempurna existed.

But over the years, I watched authentic batik compete with mass-produced prints and cheaper production elsewhere. Skilled local artisans were slowly being left behind.

We could take the easier path too. Sometimes, it is tempting. But every time we move the craft away from our own people, we risk losing a little more of what makes Malaysian batik ours.

So we choose to make Sempurna here, in Kota Bharu, Kelantan. Working with Malaysian hands, preserving the craft while creating batik for the way we dress today.

That is why I created Sempurna. Not to keep batik in the past, but to make sure it has a place in our future.
